Doing things differently

According to regulator Ofgem, energy networks will need to do things differently if we are to meet the challenge of net zero: to rewire the electricity system, to move away from natural gas (without carbon capture and storage), to operate and plan differently, and develop new approaches to provide energy and energy services to consumers – especially those that enable consumers to use less energy and to use it at different times.

Join Moody’s for a fireside chat with Phil Jones, Chief Executive of Northern Powergrid and Chair of the UK Energy Networks Association (ENA), on the challenges and opportunities for energy networks.

Topics include:

- What is a ‘smart, flexible energy system’ and what do electricity networks need to do?

- The future of gas

- Is the policy and regulatory framework fit for purpose?

- ESG – will networks continue to tick the boxes?
